Waxed canvas and full-grain leather have been paired in bag-making since the nineteenth century — canvas for structure and water resistance, leather for reinforcement at stress points, handles, and trim. The combination has endured because it works: lighter than all-leather, more durable than all-canvas, and visually distinctive in a way that neither material achieves alone.

Made in our Jodhpur workshop, this briefcase uses heavy waxed cotton canvas as the main body with full-grain leather handles, trim straps, and corner reinforcements. It ages beautifully — the canvas darkens at the edges and corners, the leather deepens across contact points, and the two materials age into each other over years of daily use.
